Anne Bourdon receives the “Ulrich Kogelschatz Lecture Award” at HAKONE 2026

- During the 19th International HAKONE Symposium on High Pressure Low-Temperature Plasma Chemistry, held at the University of Montreal (Canada) from August 23 to 27, 2026, Anne Bourdon, CNRS Research Director at the Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas (LPP), received the prestigious Ulrich Kogelschatz Lecture Award.
- The award was presented to her “for her outstanding contribution to the modelling of low-temperature plasmas, which has provided new insights into key aspects of their physics, particularly regarding the role of photoionisation processes.”
- Anne Bourdon’s research focuses in particular on the modelling of low-temperature plasmas, with the aim of better understanding the physical mechanisms governing their dynamics. The distinction awarded in Montreal highlights the importance of her contributions to the field, especially to the understanding of the role played by photoionisation.
- As a nod to the scientific theme of the award, the trophy itself was produced using 3D printing and reproduces the shape of a current pulse observed in a dielectric barrier discharge in nitrogen at atmospheric pressure.
