PLASMAScience Launches the Second Edition of its Summer School

📍Île de Porquerolles, France – June 22–28, 2025
Following the success of its inaugural Summer School dedicated to astrophysical plasmas in June 2024, EUR PLASMAScience is pleased to announce the second edition of its Summer School, this time focusing on low-temperature plasmas. The event will take place on Porquerolles Island, a site of outstanding natural beauty, from June 22 to 28, 2025.
This intensive, fully funded training program is aimed at PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists who are highly motivated and eager to deepen their understanding of low-temperature plasmas and their wide range of societal applications.
“The goal of this school is to bridge fundamental concepts with innovative plasma-based solutions through a mix of lectures and creative workshops,” explain David Pai (LPP) and Karim Ouaras (LPICM), members of the scientific board and organizers of the PLASMAScience Summer School 2025.
The program will cover a broad range of topics on applications of low-temperature plasmas and associated methods of analysis, including:
- Materials processing
- Space propulsion
- Health
- Agriculture
- Energy (photovoltaics, fusion)
- Green chemistry
- Electromagnetics (metamaterials, photonic crystals)
- Plasma sources
- Modeling, including recently developed methods of analysis such as machine learning and graph theory
Renowned international scientists from eight countries (Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Serbia, and the USA) will share their expertise through means of theory, numerical modeling, experiments, and modern data analysis techniques.
“The PLASMAScience Summer School is a unique opportunity for young researchers to share their experiences, expand their international network, and explore the latest innovations in the field of low-temperature plasmas — all within the exceptional setting of Porquerolles Island, a true gem of southern France,” concludes David Pai.
