Public outreach

All three LPP teams take part in knowledge-sharing activities with the general public (laboratory visits, public lectures, Science Festival events).

In October 2021, the Cold Plasmas team developed dedicated experiments for a visit themed “Plasmas dans tous les sens” (an EUR PLASMAScience project selected by the CNRS as part of its “Unusual Laboratory Visits” initiative). Since then, these experiments have been regularly reused for other outreach visits.

More recently, a planeterrella was built at the LPP and presented for the first time at the 2023 Science Festival at École Polytechnique. Display cases have also been installed at the laboratory on both the Jussieu and Palaiseau sites to showcase LPP achievements and to facilitate the presentation of plasma experiments to the general public
